The History of Vibration Insulators ISTAKO Production

The company Isol Kolin national enterprise was created in 1949 after the reorganization of Báňská a hutní společnost. Its production activities steadily grew to create a specialized industrial enterprise for insulation materials manufacturing. Over time, new products were introduced in the area of heat, acoustic, acid-resistant, vibration resistant and other specialized insulation materials. The company steadily expanded and in 1958, it merged with Stavební izolace Praha, specializing in manufacturing of construction insulation materials, and was its largest production facility.

Important projects in which insulation materials manufactured by Isol Kolín were used include the reconstruction of the National Theater, the construction of the Prague subway system and the Palace of Culture in Prague. Isol Kolín also supplied insulation materials for the building and reconstruction of nearly all thermal power stations in the former Czechoslovakia and for the construction of the nuclear power plant in Dukovany.

In 1990, after the disintegration of Stavební izolace Praha national enterprise Isol Kolín once again became an independent company.

On January 1, 1998, the privatization process was officially completed and as of that date, the former state-owned enterprise and its factory in Kolín became a part of Plastika Nitra a Slovakia based business and manufacturing group as a wholly owned subsidiary named Plastika - Isol s.r.o.

During 2003, the vibration insulator production was financed by the company Sindat, spol. s r.o. and at the end of that year, it was purchased by our company, Sindat Plzeň, a.s.

We are currently the only vibration insulator manufacturer in the Czech Republic.
